Virtual Platform Technical FAQs (General)

 

Some General Points to note:

                                                                   

  1. What should I do if I am not getting my OTP?

Check for the following:

- Country code is correctly mentioned

- Mobile number is same as the one entered during registration

- Enter mobile number without any spaces

- Check mobile network

If you are still unable to log in, drop us a message on the Help Chat Box or reach out to the contact  numbers visible on the same page.

 

  1. While logging in, it says ‘Invalid User’ or ‘User Not Found’.

This message appears for mobile numbers that are not registered for the event. Please use the number entered at the time of registration.

 

  1. While trying to log in, I receive the message “Connection time out please try to log in again”.

Try logging in on incognito mode. Instead of your corporate network/device, connect to your home network or an open internet source.

 

  1. What do I do in case:

On your browser permissions, allow your browser to access your camera for this website.

In case, you miss the permission notification the first time, you can click on the ‘lock’ icon next to the URL address bar, and grant permission.

If you are using your mobile, check your Chrome settings to provide access to your camera.

 

  1. Why do I get the message “The site can’t ask for your permission” or “Please grant permission”?

Close any pop ups, chat heads, bubbles or overlays from other apps and your browser. Then try accessing the site again.

For some mobile devices like the OnePlus, the user may have to rotate to portrait mode just to give camera and microphone access permission the first time.

In case, you miss the permission notification the first time, you can click on the ‘lock’ icon next to the URL address bar, and grant permission.

If you are using your mobile, check your Chrome settings to provide permission.

 

  1. When I click on the link, it shows unable to load or page broken symbol.

This might be an internet issue; do refresh your page and try again.

Instead of your corporate network/device, connect to your home network or an open internet source. (This could be a corporate network/device security issue)

 

  1. I am unable to view the LIVE stream. It is not loading /it is stuck.

This might be an internet issue. Try refreshing your page or try connecting to a stronger network that does not have packet loss or jitter. Your internet speed needs to be 5mbps or more.

  1. I am unable to view the session. The message “Hello, we will be starting shortly. Stay tuned.” appears on screen.

When you see this message, it means that the session has not yet started, or has been delayed from the timing shared on the agenda. If the message persists for too long, try refreshing your page and checking your internet connection.

 

  1. Most of the features on the platform are not working for me.

If you are connected to your corporate network/device, this is mostly a whitelisting issue. Please ensure the URLs are whitelisted or switch to a personal network and/or device.

 

 

RISE Conference FAQs

 

  1. Can another individual attend the Conference on my behalf?

The tickets are non-transferrable as the Name and Pronoun which will be visible to others on the main event day, will be that of the registered participant and cannot be modified to have your details. Each RISE 2021 pass is meant for a single individual.

Also, the login is authenticated with an OTP sent to the registered mobile number. Hence, if another user is trying to join instead of a registered user, we will not be able to provide login assistance.

 

  1. Will the Conference presentations be available for download later?

The presentations or any AV material presented by any Speaker during the sessions will not be available to download after the session is done.

 

  1. Can I login from my mobile and laptop at the same time?

You will not be able to log in from two devices at a time, hence choose your mode of participation prior to logging in, on the main Conference day. If you wish to switch devices, you will have to log out of one device and only then can you log in from the other.

 

  1. What are the limitations of attending the Conference from my mobile phone?

Being a virtual event, RISE 2021 is adapted to comfortably suit your attendance through Android handheld devices in landscape mode, provided you have good internet connectivity on the same. Besides the drawback of lower visibility on smaller devices, there are no other limitations to attending the Conference from your mobile phone. It is best viewed on a chrome browser.

 

 

RISE Job Fair FAQs

 

  1. How do I visit the Job Fair booths?

Option 1: Click on the menu bar on the top left and select Job Fair. Browse from the list of companies and choose the one you wish to visit

Option 2: Click on the hotspot on the 1st floor in the lobby. Click on the Job Fair room, browse from the list of companies and choose the one you wish to visit

 

  1. How do I interact once I reach a company booth?

Once at the booth, you have various options to interact with the recruiters from the company. Feel free to join a video call or chat with them. If you wish for the companies to contact you later, you can fill in the ‘Contact us’ form - a feature available on the right hand section of the booth, so that they can reach out to you.

Leverage the opportunity by downloading the images, pdfs, videos to find out more about the company.

 

  1. Can a company talk to me directly when I am at the booth?

The recruiters from the company cannot start a video call or chat with you.

Only you can initiate a video call or start a conversation in the chat box.

A group chat box is available to all attendees to freely chat with the companies, where they can let all attendees know of the job openings. This group chat is accessible through the ‘Notifications Bell icon’ on the top right corner.

 

  1. I want to know what all job offers are there. Where can I find out?

Please visit www.thepridecircle.com/jobs to see what are the open roles from the companies.

 

  1. What are the timings of the Job Fair?

On 8th May 2021, the Job Fair is open from 10:30am to 6:00pm IST.

You will receive your slot to attend the Job Fair, please join in your allocated slot only.

 

  1. How many companies can I talk to?

There are no restrictions on the number of companies you can talk to, but remember to shortlist companies based on your profile and their open req so you use your time judiciously.

 

  1. Will companies be conducting interviews? When and how do we start interviews?

Some companies may have a primary conversation and schedule an interview later, while some other companies may choose to conduct the interview right then.

It is always better to come prepared for an interview at the Job Fair.

As you reach the company booth, you can click on the chat terminal or video call to speak to the recruiter from the organisation.

Companies will continue to conduct interviews on the day of the Job Fair, and after that as well, since they may need multiple rounds of interview to close on the given job position.

  1. Will companies roll out offers on the Day of the Job Fair?

Some companies may roll out offers on the day of RISE Job Fair, or even later. This will depend on multiple factors like the type of req, eligibility, rounds of interview possible to conduct on the day, etc.

 

  1. How many people can video call the recruiters at a time?

One video call terminal can accommodate only one person at a time.

If another person tries to start a video call while the recruiter is already speaking to someone, they will receive the notification “Line is busy. Try again later.”

The chat terminals are open to drop your messages.

Or you can fill up a ‘Contact Us’ form, so that the recruiters can reach out to you later in the day or after the event.

 

  1. Can I get my friend along?

Only registered participants can access the Job Fair, so only if your friend(s) has registered for the Job Fair in advance and have received the login details, can they can attend the Job Fair.

 

  1. Can I share my phone no and OTP with a friend who forgot to register?

The Job Fair registrations and passes are non-transferrable. This means that sharing your phone number or OTP with another person who has not registered, is strictly prohibited and your account will blocked from the platform.

 

  1. Can I join RISE Job Fair from a mobile device?

Yes. Being a virtual event, RISE 2021 is adapted to comfortably suit your attendance through Android handheld devices in landscape mode, provided you have good internet connectivity on the same. Besides the drawback of lower visibility on smaller devices, there are no other limitations to attending the Job Fair from your mobile phone. It is best viewed on a Chrome browser, and for the best experience we recommend using your laptop.

 

  1. Do I have to be out to participate in the RISE Job Fair?

No, you need not be out to participate in RISE. We have had over 150 job offers for LGBT+ people till now and not many are out to everyone. Your privacy will be respected.
